Maybe if you are targeting a Columbian website with Columbian traffic. Id stick with .com/.net TLDs and not really go into country specific TLD unless you are specifically targeting that country. When I search google (Im in the US) I dont recall ever seeing a site with .co, .ro, maybe a .uk once in awhile and also maybe a .ca once in awhile. Good luck!

I agree with jason, if it is targeted to Columbia based products/services then OK. If it is geared to WWW then I wouldnt do it. Rarely do you see a .co com up in a google.com (USA) search

To be honest, with .co domains you are going to have to do to a little bit more work. However, co domain have more names left to register vs the .com com's are the most desireable but are extremly hard to find a good quaility one. If you believe you can get it to work for you then go for it. If not try to find a good .com domain you can buy - you may even find one for the 20$ some odd dollars on ebay or on a domain name forum for sale.

    Best of Luck.

I have to agree with Rick and Jason here. There is a bit of a .co buzz now but in most cases I would not recommend these trendy TLD when there is a Geo tied to them. Now I am an advocate of a nice .info here and there if you can not get the proper domain and I do not see Google ( in the USA ) showing any bios against these affordable domains. So you can get creative there and expirement some with them at a low cost and often get EMD that are not available in the .com or .net TLD. You might also look at .us as an option because statistically there are a good bit of EMD available there as well + they show up nice in the Google USA serps.

alot of "authorized" registers are trying to promote it as "company" "commercal", and its a bit shady IMO. They neglect to tell you it is a CCTLD recently released by the colombian government. its not a top level domain.

Id steer clear. It may go the way of the .biz and .info domains...which are universally associated with "spamming/undesirable" sites, and as a result rank poorly in the search engines.

I also don't understand why higher price of .co domain compared to .com, .net, and .org, I thinks its ranking in search engines is good or is there anything else?
