Anyone else using Ping.FM for marketing and SEO?
Hey Guys
I been tinkering with a little site called ping.fm lately and seting up some stuff to get me a little better leverage on my time. While the site is not as intuitive as it could be I have found it really useful for microblogging, blogging and such. I am always saying that the beauty of the Internet is that you can be in more than one place at a time and this site really lets you exploit this a good bit. Anyone else using it for their arcades lately?

For the last 2 months I have been auto posting to ping.fm as new games are added. I was hoping to get some backlinks from it but so far no luck. It's probably best used to engage with an audience on the social sites it posts to. That would take way too much time/effort to build up I'd imagine. Get any results yourself?

slowly I have been getting a few more guys on twitter and I tied a little blogspot blog to it a while ago and done a few post there where I spin brief articles on popular games we add ( not done this much lately ) but it does help. I also ping the blogspot blog from multiple sources but they show up in 3 - 4 days and focusing on games means a lot less KW competition. There are a few of those twitter knockoffs on PingFM with do-follow that show up and I post to them using the AOL IM because it is convenient and I can drop a fast short update there. Over all it has not been something amazing but for convenience of being a lot of places at once it is not bad and helps get the word to guys who read your stuff.

Nice. Sounds like a much better use than autoposting games with descriptions. Do you write reviews of games or more like press release style articles on your blogspot?

I write reviews but I also do the autopost of the games and descriptions to the microblogs it is just that it does not seem to get as much action as it used to get relative to getting your games in the index but if you can get multiple referrences to the same game on your site that seems to help more with getting it indexed + ranked a bit better IMHO. This is kind of like Google is going back to basics and not just looking at volume purely or even at hot buzz sites but looking for multiple citations and that is similar to how their local listings work and how it was several years ago. They stopped because back in the day depending on what KW of course it was possible to own 3 - 5 sites and produce content pointing to your money site thereby pushing it up the ranks entirely by yourself.
I guess with a lot of 3 way links and blog / article stuff you can still do that but it is more difficult now but it is still way better than just letting guys who can use tools to produce large volume backlinks run the show.

So ping.fm is about pinging the sites or what?
