Wordpress Arcades and Plugins

Hey all,

ok, from my other thread, wordpress was mentioned, so I decided to dig into how plugins are made.

What I would like to know is:

1, what arcade plugins are out there?
2, what features are missing?
3, what features are on your wishlist?
4, what version of wordpress do you tend to use?

Im thinking of either creating my own from scratch or using a premade one and porting over things like the tournament mod.

1, Muchimedia is the most common although personally I recommend adding games yourself because most muchimedia games are over used and many of them suck(not all just many)

4, Most people upgrade to the latest versions of wp as they come out(currently 3.0)

And I will end by saying if you wish to make a new wp plugin I suggest you try and see if it is possible to import game from the feeds of other arcade sites or something like that. Granted I have no idea if this is even possible, but it it is possible it would be cool.

1, The plugins ive look at are
MyArcadeBlog Pro
Triqui
WpArcadeEngine
WPArcade
ArcadePress

But they all do pretty much the same thing, alot of them dont have any highscore functions, or are so basic (simple inserts)

I was thinking of making the plugin to be part of buddypress, or finding a simple PM system to send notifications of lost highscores etc.
So it would be more like a full blown arcade suite rather than just a wordpress blog with games.

4, Alot do, but some stick to older versions which is why im asking which it needs to support but im thinking of just supporting 3.0 as it has a good custom post type system/plugin.

Import games from what types of sites? From general sites, no, thats called scraping and I dont do it. Unless they provide an API for doing so.
I know a few sites which I am going to add as importers like FGL, Heyzap, GamePortal, IPB (with highscore capability)

But atm, its just an ideas stage.

This may come way too late as this is a very old thread but I've been searching for a way to get the Big Fish Games online games into posts in a better way than I currently have by using ArcadePress which has an author that has disappeared by all known ways of contact. It's an unfinished plugin as far as I am concerned and lacks the ability to import the game's feature image into the post's Excerpt. It should also have automatic cron jobs or another way to import data from Big Fish Games. If anyone knows much about creating plugins for wordpress I'd be happy to hear from you if you think you can help to add some functions to this plugin or utilizing an old version of some similar plugins that are abandoned. I find it very hard to get help for the Big Fish Games Affiliate program since they done away with the old Tiered referral system but it still is a solid source for some good income and has very good quality online games, which is why I prefer to stick primarily with those.
