3 most important front page elements?

I would like to ask everyone what they believe to be the three most important elements to have on a front page of your arcade website (other than regular adverts)

I am not sure myself. If I where to select three it would probably be

1 - Some sort of categorized navigation (like action/shooting/strategy links etc)

2 - Game thumbnails

3 - Something to encourage visitor to come back (bit vague sorry, but could be anything for different sites like "updated daily" or "win prizes" etc)


I'd love to hear what both experienced and new arcade guys think are the three most important elements of a front page.

3) no more than 3 scrolls on the wheel to the bottom of the page...

LOGO, you need to have a mascot! Then include it in all ads run
Ady said content... I agree but watch play stats and put top play/searches on front page
As you said THUMBS. I like the larger size and 'clean" looking. Also watch for K size!!! For some reason dev love HUGE arse files!!! Add 25+ on front page and ya screwed! I had to batch allmine and slim down.

I'm re-building a bunch of my websites and making custom templates instead of using stock or tweaking stock templates. As I'm starting from the ground up I figured its the perfect opportunity to try and make the perfect site (lol if there is such a thing )

I did a clone from one site, the first one has a bad domain, the other a nice one, the content is exact the same, the logo is the domain name, the nice domain gets 3 times more PV...

Think about a nice domain...
