    Hey Comcenter,

Well, surge was down for me again today, contacted support again and no response yet. Site is back up though, so at least we can keep earning.
Unsure how long it was down for though, but nothing compensated.

The floaties, i think they should be CPC and not CPM based. Then they dont have to cane users for bad impressions/click but for bad click conversions instead.
Offering everything on CPM will always have a flaw as people will always abuse it, which is why alot of companies moved to an ecpm basis.
But even that can be abused with proxy based clicks.

You could run a floatie yourself easily, they may not be intrusive on wider screens, but those on smaller screens it can be.

Footers, what I like about surges footers is when you scroll to the bottom of the site and look at the footer, you can view the full footer.
But with the likes of Ad4games footer, unless you click close, you cannot view the whole footer.
Which can be annoying when you go to check stats on others sites and they only link is in the footer, covered with the footer ad :/

We all want 100% uptime for an ad company, but as they are new, there will always be issues. I think epics main issue is the speed in which popups can be delivered.
I recently done a trial and was sent around 2k pops in a few minutes.

Ive talked with Kenny before though and he is trying to improve uptime, I have mentioned things like caching the stats reports instead of making them real time.
But they would need alot more than that to keep up with everything. I also mentioned using a CDN for image loading etc.

Anyway, im still trialing these ad companies ive also trialed others which eventually just stopped tracking stats and no payouts for the revenue generated already.

Im thinking for some slots of just running my own ad server, but even that has flaws as you could end up causing your own downtime lol.
    Thanks
    Paul

I just signed up for Epic also. Can Epic set channel like what Google Adsense have?

And answering your own email.lol...Yeah the sites are new fair enough. But when users are getting emails like this...Which way would you turn.

Only the floatie is disabled when this email is sent out - I'm sure it's understandable that in order to pay a fixed cpm on a product - we need a certain amount of performance from it to break even, much less pull a profit.

It's still a product in beta - and we've had LOTS of publishers use it alongside footer ads, siteskin ads, etc - and like we mention in the email - for some reason, some sites audiences just don't react as well with them - through no fault of their own.

This was a hard decision but we had to set in some kind of auto disable (note: this only disables the floatie, not your entire account) for accounts with far under average performance.

Floaties disabled have 50% less than the average global CTR - or less. If the unit isn't sustainable, then it doesn't do anyone any good anyways.

I think we are all eager to see Epic Gameads pick up their feet and establish themselves as an advertising company we can rely on. The timing in which they have appeared to arcade webmasters couldn't of been more on target, with Google's recent new rules. Same goes for Surge Direct.
For this reason we are all discussing these companies, putting them in the hot chair and demanding them to fill the void Google has created.

I've been thinking of trying selling downloadable games (through affiliate sales) as an additional method of income. Not sure if its worth all the work though.

Personally , i will recommended adsense for the primary ads, then use epic and surge as the alternative. you can also cpmstar/bannerflux for in-games ads..very good

My experience is different from all of the above users. Or say that i'm old -fashion. I'm using adsense for monetization my game website and generating pretty much handsome revenue. To say 4 digit per month
