hope everyone's day is off to a good start, anyways my post is one of concern. has anyone looked into them unity games? i have checked them out some and to me i think the days of game websites is coming to a close. i mean how is one going to compete with games you can add to and play on your iphone or whatever? i noticed one web owner is telling his users he will have unity games on his site later this month. but when i went to the unity website, i saw nowhere to download or even embed code. than again not real sure most of the normal aka the little guys website is capable of being accessed via cell phones or what have you. although i have noticed several users to http://www.elgingamer.com use wii. that is a surprise to me! anyways i guess it is now time to pay the big bucks to have your website converted to mobile or just find another niche eh? What say you all? it will be very interesting to see the comments and suggestions if any at all. how will we compete with the excellent quality of 3D games? i honestly believe this is where our traffic is going, people would rather play their games on the go than sit at home. so i will put the soap box away for now and watch for your replies or comments or whatever. and id o hope this was the right place to post this!? because i seriously believe this is Arcade related. thanks for reading this longer post than i usually post. have a grand day or at least try to make a grand. lol

Unity games wont kill anything, they are just another avenue to exploit.
Yes they can do more 3D, but so will flash when molehill and the video card features come into action.
So it will match the GFX of unity then.
Some sites do allow embed of unity games, but not many, I think you have to basically copy the files (illegally) if you want them.

As for converting to mobile, ive been considering looking into setting up a service for this, or creating mods for different scripts.
But im restricted as im not designer, only a coder.
I know you can already take advantage of this with Wordpress.

Kids cannot use phones at school, so online will always have its place, think of mobile as more of a new market place to take control of.

Only time will tell though, lol,

Yes your right i guess, besides i already found a site to get unity games from. course now i have the problem of them over lapping my right side column but that is another story, gotta figure out how to make the page fit the game..fun fun fun...have a great heatwave this weekend. lol

if the game cannot be resized, then you would need to modify your layout.
Or only support it in a popup etc.

I have an idea, how about you modify my layout to fit the games that over lap? lol i can re size the game but than the player could not play it because most of the game would not be visible. and whoever made the script also forgot to add the play game full button in the link out games or modified games. like my widgets! you can load and play them but there is no full screen button showing because they use different code than just the normal open swf file command. another glitch in the script coders code i guess. but i seriously need to get the game page to stretch, because from what i have seen, the unity games are all 700pixels wide and beyond.

I am not totally sure it is a design thing but more of a coding flaw or over sight. Oh well since i am as broke as the high school prom queen, guess i am on my own on this one. lol

Its not coming to an end for game sites, and it never will. You will see game sites intergrating their sites for iphone apps, and such. That will be the future for game sites in my opinion.

It won't be happening on Iphone unless they decide to allow flash..

I personally don't think that the end is near for flash game sites as well. My reasoning is that a lot of money by large corps has been put into flash dev and they don't just say oh well and move on. They will improve support for higher quality flash ads and games. I also think or atleast hope that flash developers and sponsors will go back to basics and make the games more interactive and entertaining possibly with Audio. I recently worked with Waynesarcade on a game called Bloods Vs Crips and me and my brother recorded some custom theme music and a quality original track that the developer added to the game and it's branding significantly improved IMHO.

I am also involved in indie records and I hear the same thing there about times coming to an end. I just think we can all adapt and try new things to figure out where we go from here as webmasters and how we fit the new tech into our sites ( unity is not new ) my bro been talking about it for years and even great new tech needs time to catch on now days.
